My Therapeutic Style
I’ve been described by past clients as patient, insightful, warm, and genuine. I want my clients to experience that they can show someone all parts of themselves and be accepted.
You don’t have to educate me about racism, growing up with immigrant parents, or what it’s like to come from a multiethnic or multiracial family. You can trust that I’m always listening for ways that misogyny, internalized racism, or homophobia shows up. I know that we don’t exist in apolitical bubbles, and I’m not going to be afraid of sitting with the pain that these social structures create.
Education
I was fortunate to be trained as a therapist in one of the only programs in the world that offers an accredited master’s degree in Human Sexuality along with clinical training in Social Work. My degree in Human Sexuality helps me feel comfortable discussing the most intimate parts of my clients’ lives with ease, and my Social Work training helps me consider the ways larger institutions of power impact my clients. I have also completed a two year training program with the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute in Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
